At moments when the human spirit has been crowded into a space filled with hatred, indifference, rigidity, authoritarian control, self-absorption, and a complete loss of empathy, a powerful blow to the spirit —to what we call the soul— becomes necessary. This is the personal soul, the social soul, the ethos contaminated by unjust, traditional, religious, political, and global paradigms that only seek to divide what should not be divided and erase what has existed since the beginning of time.
We have forgotten that we come from imperfection, from accident, from luck, from chaos, and we have stubbornly insisted on perfection: square, controlled, symmetrical, fascist, communist, and radical. White noise, a deafening silence that crushes the voice. White noise, a deafening silence, a perfect sound that crushes ideas. White noise, a deafening silence, a perfect sound that crushes the colors of the spirit. White noise, a deafening silence, a perfect sound that, despite its beauty, annihilates the right to Be/Exist/Belong. To speak, to have an opinion, to shout, to express, to dance, to sing, to love, to fornicate, to live from what makes us to Be/Exist/Belong is our right and duty as beings who are part of this world. This makes the small, perfectionist group uncomfortable —those who deny the very diversity of nature, history, and life.
What could be more perfect than a beautiful "anomaly" that unsettles and disrupts but is part of the very essence of nature? Homosexuality, which has been present since time immemorial in this short but valuable human history, has driven sages and crusaders, emperors and the religious, kings and deacons, citizens and lackeys to lose their minds, labeling this natural behavior as unnatural, degenerate, unthinkable—yet very explosive. BOOM! Here is our Lance of Longinus, our sacred spear. The simple act of to Be/Exist/Belong is a weapon that shatters the glass floors of perfection, of that traditionalist, religious, political, and definitively unnatural idealization.
Geometry, the most beautiful daughter of mathematics, a faithful representation of visual and compositional perfection, serves as our muse of static, aesthetic, perfect, rigid, and blank inspiration. Geometry is present in all that is visible: axes, guides, diagrams, landscapes, architecture, paintings, photographs of planets, plants, and bodies. It is the representation of the foundations imposed by a society sick with perfection. Here enters homosexuality, this precious inclination toward the same sex, with its vibrant colors, illuminating this dark, rigid world with its brilliance, acknowledging that we have always been present, shattering those imposed foundations, and creating unique pieces that we can carry with us as a symbol of to Be/Exist/Belong to this incredibly imperfect world.
